AwardsPlanner is an award tool that lets you search for flights between two airports and shows the theoretical best points and miles prices for how to book that itinerary! Prices shown are for one way. Note that this is not reflective of true award availability. Verify your flight is available before transferring any points over.

Since AwardsPlanner does not show actual availability and only shows theoretical best pricing for a given route, there is no need for a date option.

AwardsPlanner algorithmically fetches and displays airline operators for a given route and the list shown may not be comprehensive. However, you can use the manual search option on the home page to still search for that route.

AwardsPlanner algorithmically fetches flight data for routes. For some routes, we may not have been able to fetch the data, which means no results will be shown.

AwardsPlanner only shows airlines that are able to be booked with transferrable points.

AwardsPlanner only shows results that have at most 1 stop.

For programs with no published award chart, AwardsPlanner was most likely unable to find the price due to no availability. If you were able to find the price, feel free to fill out the Google Form in the Contact Page with the price and the date you found it so it can be verified. Then AwardsPlanner would be happy to update the site with the price.

AwardsPlanner omits certain booking programs because although they are valid, the actual possibility of booking it is zero due to that program not receiving partner award space or from being restricted. For example, AwardsPlanner omitted Air Canada Aeroplan as a valid option for booking Etihad First class because Etihad has restricted Aeroplan from accessing their first class award space.

We're fairly confident that this won't happen for single carrier itineraries. However, for the mixed carrier and mixed cabin itineraries, it's a difficult and time consuming process to filter out all illegitimate options. We tried our best but there may still be some that show up.

We didn't factor in aircraft types or nail down what cabins are operated on specific routes. For example, searching SEA–NRT will show Japan Airlines as a valid option and show a first class price even though JAL does not operate first class on that route. This is a limitation of the site that we're aware of.

AwardsPlanner will only show the booking programs that we felt were worthwhile showing or were already transferrable to by other point programs. The 3:1 transfer ratio makes it a bad deal most of the time except for niche situations like needing expanded availability from a program no credit cards transfer to.
